SOSH Architects News - Issue #7
In the spotlight
Rowan Art Gallery
Glassboro, NJ
SOSH Architect's most recent higher education project formally opened on September 16. SOSH had the privilege of working with Rowan University to transform a three-story, 17,000 square-foot apartment building at 301 West High Street. The completely refurbished building features a new University Art Gallery that now serves as bridge between the college community and the surrounding Glassboro neighborhood. The extensive renovation project includes a complete façade restoration and conversion of the first floor into modern gallery space. The SOSH design team also made optimal use of the second and third floor space for smart classrooms, computer labs, administrative offices and student lounge spaces. Sitting at the cusp of the University grounds and the burgeoning Glassboro Arts District, the Rowan Art Gallery at 301 West High Street is an anchor for the area's continued revitalization, bringing arts, culture, entertainment and community together.
